Keeping the firefighters wel informed is the most important goal of RESC.Info. To achieve this goal the system has to meet some demands. These demands are formulated by the public using the system and their expectations.

Public
Who will use the system and what are their expecations

• Firefighters, A single point where they can keep up to date with developement at the firedepartment, and inform the fire department about their availability.
• Chiefs, Gain a overview of the availability of people, create schedules and have a single point to leave information for their crew members.
• Commanding officers, Over view of the status of various departments in the area they service
  
• Department Command, A simple and fast way to provide every member of the fire department with important information.
  
• Preperation department, Simple and fast way to inform about up comming trainings.

By the expectations formulated above you can clearly see that the whishes are quiet broad formulated. In the end its about give and take, deliver information about availability and receive important information in return. Although this may sound like "Cow trading" in the end it will deliver more dedication to the fire deparment.

Which information should be show ?

• Availability of individual firefighters and functions.

Ofcourse the information need of every firedepartment is totaly different. Some examples of extension we did in the past; Buliten Board, picture book and function schedules.

Functional demands
Which demands should be honored to use the sytem ?

• It should be SECURE
• It should work without installing specific software.
• Follow standards so it is functional regardles of the computer used.
• External applications should be able to communicate with the system
• Full time availability
• Easy and clear user interface

Design demands
Which are the demands the designers of the system put up ?

• Information which is related should be linked.
• Data and user interface should be seperated during processing
• Language independent
• Flexibel arrangable parts
• Easy to manage

The 4 element listed above are the basis on which netage.nl created the concept for RESC.Info. Over the past few years the system is widely used in the netherlands and through feed back of our customers we have been able to evolve the product. The user say what we want to hear: 'The system is easy to use, and does exactly what we expect from it'
